This bright Lime Green Pineapple Smoothie packs the sweetness and the greens without any added sugar to become a family favorite!
Morning refresher or dinner finisher. That is my usual smoothie agenda.
When dinner has been frozen pizza or a high carb low veggie meal has taken place OORR if I sense my children are extra hungry, I make a smoothie. It tends to really top them off. I can ALWAYS add spinach so I know they at least get ‘some’ vegetables in their day.
I also think smoothies provide a freebie for me to add a surprise ingredient haha like a cucumber or chia seeds or carrots.
This particular smoothie adds mint. Yum! Which I want my kids to recognized as a flavor they like!
If you have all the ingredients on hand, making smoothies is a very quick process.
My freezer is usually full of frozen fruits by the bagful. That way I am always prepared for a quick and healthy smoothie.
A few necessary steps are required however for smoothie success.
- Measure the milk in the smoothie jar
- Then add the spinach
- Dump in the rest of the fruit and as long as there are some pieces of frozen fruit that made it to the blade…it should blend fine! You get stumped if all the frozen fruit freezes in a clump. If that’s the case, turn it off and go at it with a fork! Or just wait until it melts a tad bit.
- WHATEVER YOU DO!!! Don’t go at it with a knife! It will scratch your lovely blender. And no one wants scratch marks:)
This particular smoothie contains-
- spinach – for IRON (recommended daily amount 1/2 cup)
- mangoes – vitamin C (100% daily amount)
- pineapple – low calorie/high anti-inflammatory
- bananas – potassium AND fiber
- Greek yogurt – protein (approx 46 grams/day needed)
- almond milk – low in cal/sugar
Oh geez, enjoy this fresh minty green pineapple smoothie with you and your loved ones today.
